Garfield County CD, Dept. of Wildlife Conservation & Groendyke Lodge Host Legislative Shootout
Garfield County Conservation District in cooperation with John Groendyke and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation held a recreational shooting event and conservation program for area legislators on Dec. 4. The event was held at the Groendyke Lodge north of Enid.
Ed Cunnius, manager of ODWC’s Shotgun Training Education Program, led a sporting clay shoot, followed by a European-style pigeon shoot. After the outdoor events the lodge hosted a reception and dinner for participants. Following dinner a program was presented on the Drummond Flats Wetlands Project for wildlife and waterfowl. The 1,400-acre project is cosponsored by ODWC, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, Conservation Commission, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and Garfield County CD.
State Sens. David Myers and Patrick Anderson, Reps. Mike Jackson and John Enns, former Rep. Curt Roggow and County Assessor Wade Patterson were among those participating.
