2021 Northeastern Colorado Progressive Ag Symposium, West Greeley Conservation District
The West Greeley Conservation District is hosting their 2021 Northeastern Colorado Progressive Ag Symposium. This year’s Symposium will be held at the Double Tree Hotel and Conference Center in Greeley, Colorado on November 3-4, 2021. In general, the emphasis of this year’s Symposium can best be described as promoting innovations to agricultural production including soil health principles, irrigation water management, regenerative ag, conservation tillage, and associated nutrient and pest management techniques.
Featured speakers include Oklahoma Conservation Commission Soil Health Mentoring Coordinator Jimmy Emmons, Dr. Jill Clapperton, and Brendon Rockey. Jimmy Emmons is an Oklahoma Farmer/Rancher and is a well-known speaker in the Soil Health community. He is a Leopold Award Winner and was inducted this year into the Oklahoma Conservation Hall of Fame. Dr. Jill Clapperton is the Principal Scientist, founder, and owner of Rhizoterra Inc. and a well-known international lecturer and advocate for practices that promote methods to improve soil health. Brendon Rockey is an irrigated farmer in the Center, Colorado area. He will be presenting his Biotic Farming Fundamentals and Application during breakout sessions at the Symposium. Emmons will also have two breakout sessions. Plus, Emmons will be the opening speaker of the West Greeley Conservation District annual banquet the night Nov. 4 after the symposium ends.
