Employee of the Quarter: Karla Beatty

Karla Beatty, OCC Conservation Programs education coordinator, was recognized as Employee of the Quarter at the monthly meeting of the Oklahoma Conservation Commission on Jan. 4, 2010. Karla has worked for OCC for 10 years. During that time she has represented OCC in giving presentations and in involvement with organizations at local, state and national levels and has served in leadership positions with state and national organizations.

Her nomination form read “She is well known and respected by her peers and colleagues for her professional knowledge, leadership abilities, and management skills. Karla has a positive customer service orientation and is a strong team player who is always willing to assist others to be successful. She exercises initiative, is creative in her approaches and problem solving and she exerts positive influence on customers, clients, coworkers and associates. Karla is frequently recognized at the state, regional and national levels for her dedication and commitment to excellence in her service and products. Karla provides leadership to the Oklahoma Environmental Education Coordinating Committee, manages Oklahoma’s Project WET Program and jointly oversees Project WEBFOOT. She provides educational tools, training and assistance to conservation districts; assists the Wetlands Program with educational activities; serves on the Dam Safety Incident Command System Team and projects a positive image for the division, agency and the State of Oklahoma.”
