2026 H2Oklahoma Festival Dates, Locations Announced

What is H2Oklahoma?

The H2Oklahoma Water Festival is back in 2026, 30 years after the inaugural festival in 1996. After a brief hiatus, H2Oklahoma returned to bring water education to Oklahoma’s youth last year. What started as an annual indoor event has turned into a traveling outdoor education program that reaches students across the state. H2Oklahoma offers students curriculum-based, hands-on activities centered on the importance of water and environmental sustainability.

Lessons and activities are inspired by the nationally recognized Project WET, Project WILD, and Project Learning Tree programs, which are aligned with Oklahoma Academic Standards. Students and teachers can expect an engaging day filled with educational games, water cycle demonstrations, macroinvertebrate modeling, and environmental observation exercises.

The goals of the H2Oklahoma program include:
– Foster environmental awareness and responsibility
– Offer students an enriching and innovative way to learn about water
– Help teachers meet educational goals and state standards
– Introduce students to careers in conservation

The 2026 program year includes six separate festivals held throughout the state in March and April.

– Wednesday, March 11 @ Couch Park, Stillwater
– Tuesday, March 24 @ Ruby Grant Park, Norman
– Wednesday, April 1 @ Oxley Nature Center, Tulsa
– Wednesday, April 8 @ Oxley Nature Center, Tulsa
– Wednesday, April 22 @ Will Rogers Gardens, OKC
– Wednesday, April 29 @ Beaver Dunes Park, Beaver

All activities will be conducted by conservation professionals and volunteers from partner organizations representing various conservation and education sectors.

Registration is now closed, but interested parents or teachers can contact Jack Hilgert for participation in the 2027 H2Oklahoma Festivals.
