SUMMARY:USDA Webinar for Tribal Nations
DESCRIPTION:As the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), State Tribal Liaison, I am dedicated to ensuring that all the Tribal Nations of Oklahoma, their Tribal communities, Tribal organizations and  American Indian producers have all the relevant information on NRCS farm bill programs and our free technical assistance. Every five years, Congress takes up a massive piece of legislation known as the farm bill, which includes funding for producers and Tribal Nations to ensure there is not a shortage of food.\n \nNRCS receives farm bill funding for eligible producers and Tribal Nations. We want to extend an invitation to your Tribal Nation, staff and directors to join us on October 18, at 1:00 PM. We will share the simple steps to apply for NRCS programs and what programs NRCS has available for Tribal Nations and their communities.\n \nYes, there is always paperwork and an eligibility process involved when applying for NRCS programs, however, it is easy to do if you know the simple steps to apply for NRCS programs and how you become eligible. Stacy Riley, NRCS Assistant State Conservationist for programs, will share the simple steps to complete an application for NRCS programs and what programs are available. Cody Parker, NRCS State Tribal Soil Conservationist, will share the important role he plays in the conservation planning stage for Tribal Nations and their communities.\n \nMattie Alewine, Outreach Coordinator, Farm Service Agency (FSA), will join us to share an update on their programs and the eligibility process for NRCS programs. Troy Marshall, with the National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS), will provide a brief update on the upcoming Ag censes and the important role NASS plays for Tribal Nations.\n \nPlease join us by registering at the Zoom link below. Speakers are also required to register. Once you register, you will get an email which says, USDA Webinar with Oklahoma Tribes.
